Meet the artist behind the music
Who is DJ Benjii?
A lifelong love of music. More than a decade behind the decks. A personal connection to every celebration.
DJ Benjii is a first-generation Ethiopian DJ, music producer, and recording artist based in the Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia (DMV) area. His love of music began in childhood, long before he moved to the United States at 16. After finishing school, he turned that passion into a career, beginning his professional DJ journey in 2014.
Since then, he has brought his sound to concerts, private events, and clubs across the DMV and beyond, with performances in Atlanta, Dallas, Seattle, Boston, Toronto, and Addis Ababa. He has also hosted successful parties in the DMV, bringing people together through music, culture, and a shared energy on the dance floor.
Today, his focus is on creating elegant, thoughtfully presented entertainment for private events. From Ethiopian and mixed-culture weddings to milestone celebrations and corporate gatherings, DJ Benjii brings a versatile musical perspective and an appreciation for how an event looks, feels, and flows. His goal is simple: make the music feel personal and give every guest a reason to celebrate.
His creativity continues beyond the decks. As a producer and recording artist, DJ Benjii releases music both independently and in collaboration with other artists. His catalog includes several albums available across major streaming platforms, including Apple Music, Spotify, Tidal, and Amazon Music, with a new album on the way.
